According to Sky Sports, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he blames “mental fatigue” for Liverpool’s shock defeat to Brighton on Wednesday.
The loss was Liverpool’s second straight league defeat at Anfield this season which hasn’t happened in the Premier League since 2012.
“For me the team looked, and it’s long ago since we looked like this, but we looked fatigued, mentally fatigued. That leads to not the best legs as well,” Klopp said.

Following the success of last season when the Reds won their first ever Premier League title and first league title in 30 years, this season was always going to be difficult.
Liverpool have been hard hit with injuries this season with both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez ruled out for the season early on which has been costing Klopp’s team – particularly lately.

Klopp’s men will also want to correct the shocking statistic of being the first Liverpool team not to score in three league home games since 1984.
Should they fail to win their next game they will be the first Liverpool team ever not to score at home in four consecutive league games.
Liverpool have currently matched the record for most league games at home without a goal which currently stands at three for the current champions.
