Jurgen Klopp forced to start midfielder at centre back against Southampton

Liverpool are one of the many clubs in the Premier League struggling to fill out their strongest XI during the Covid-19 pandemic. Klopp’s experiment tonight in defence is not the first time he’s tried to slot a midfielder into centre half and it seemed to work out well last time as Fabinho has been consistent at the back after a shaky start. The Brazilian will know how to handle Englishman Jordan Henderson in defence and will know what to say to him to calm his nerves.

The former Sunderland player will be starting in defence alongside regular starts Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Fabinho. Do you think Jordan will be able to hack it in defence or will he need a few games t settle in in front of Alisson? The Liverpool captain will be looking to ensure his side keeps a clean sheet to get the full 3 points and try to open up a lead at the top of the Premier League table with Manchester United in hot pursuit.

Klopp is preparing his squad for a tough title race and it seems he is preparing for life without centre backs as well, how long until we see James Milner or Sadio Mane playing alongside Virgil van Dijk?
