According to the Daily Mail Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher told the Telegraph that Sir. Alex Ferguson tipped Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool success three years before they won the Premier League.
Carragher said: ‘Outside Anfield, there was only one high-profile figure in the game who tried to convince me Klopp could bring the title to Anfield,’
‘It was the look he gave me which was most revealing, as he explained how impressed he had been with Klopp during Champions League coaching seminars.
“Klopp attended while Borussia Dortmund coach to hear from the most esteemed football minds.
“He felt, and exhibited, no inferiority complex, and Ferguson intuitively knew he was perfect for Liverpool.”
It’s clear to see that the 13 time winner of the Premier League – Sir. Alex Ferguson – was spot on as Klopp lead Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years and first ever Premier League title in 2020.
Since becoming Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has brought a Premier League, another Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup to Anfield in what’s been the clubs most successful period in decades.
Klopp took over at Liverpool in 2015 and since his arrival the team he has built has entertained football fans all over the world as they smashed several records including setting the earliest Premier League victory when they won it with seven matches to spare in the 2019/20 season.
Liverpool are currently in a battle with Sir.Alex’s old team as the bitter rivals battle it out for top spot in the league.
Both sides meet this Sunday where a victory for Liverpool will see them go joint top with United or a victory for The Red Devils will see them take a six point lead.
