Manchester CIty superstar Erling Haaland’s agent has backed him to become the first £1bn footballer.
It was no great secret when Man City paid just north of £50m to sign Haaland from Borussia Dortmund that they were making one of the buys of the summer transfer window.
However, few could’ve predicted that Haaland would have this straightforward a start to life in the Premier League, with 15 goals in his first ten league appearances for City.
We’re all getting a little carried away, and could be forgiven for doing so considering his electric form, but Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, is taking things to a whole new level.
Pimenta is quoted by the Daily Mail claiming that Haaland could be the game’s first £1bn player, “I think Erling will be the first player to achieve a transfer that will be around £1bn.”
“If you put together his football value, his image value, his sponsor value, it is for sure £1bn. It’s normal to compare Erling with Mbappe so you have a little bit of an idea of the market.”
Taking that into consideration, it just reaffirms what a superb deal Man City got during the summer. Dortmund must be ruing that release clause they agreed to have in his contract…
