Tempers flared in wake of Gremio’s 3-1 defeat to Palmeiras on Sunday, with the supporters making their feelings known over their club’s recent form.
Gremio find themselves 19th in the Brazilian Serie A following a string of disappointing results. With South American football fans being notoriously passionate (and bonkers) you could sense that this wasn’t going to end well.
Still, the scenes which unfolded on Sunday night were like nothing we’ve seen before, with fans running onto the pitch before trashing the VAR area. Every football fan has wanted to do this at some point in time…

Trashing your own stadium is a questionable way to encourage your team into turning poor results around, yet Gremio fans seized their opportunity to do damage to the Arena do Gremio.
