There was epic scenes today in O’Connor Park Tullamore as the small village of Shinrone won their first ever county senior hurling title. It’s a small village extremely close to Cistercian College Roscrea in Tipperary, but scenes like this are really what the GAA is all about.
The big days in Croke Park are special too, but this is the very heart and soul of the GAA, a small village creating history, it will be some night out in that village this evening and that squad of players will all be heroes. Well done to all involved the players and management, I know that village very well…

Great to see county finals like this happening in the good weather also, instead of the misery of November.
