The fallout from the injury to Dublin footballer Davy Byrne continues with the news that the GAA has re-opened the investigation into the incident.
Byrne received nasty facial injuries and a broken nose during a challenge game against Armagh which took place behind closed doors two weeks ago.
The player reportedly sustained the injuries in an incident before the throw-in.
The GAA’s Central Competition Controls Committee have examined a video of the game, but the incident in question wasn’t caught on camera.
Both County Boards will be questioned on the matter as there was no mention of the incident in the referee’s report.
Dublin manager Jim Gavin revealed in a radio interview last week that Byrne spoke to the Armagh player after the game.
A full investigation by the CCCC into the incident now seems likely with so much media attention on the case.
