Damien Ryder, from Dunmore sadly passed away last Saturday and he was one of the best Galway supporters in the county. Damien Ryder was a young man and will be sadly missed by his family and friends, we send out best wished to those that were closet to him.

Damien Ryder’s club released a statement saying;

“Our club would like to sympathise with the Ryder family Gortnagoyne on the sudden and untimely passing of Damien. Damien was one of Dunmore MacHales and Galway GAA’s greatest supporters.

“He rarely, if ever, missed a game for his beloved green and white and maroon and white, football or hurling. He acquired a great eye for detail and a wonderful knowledge of Gaelic games from the many matches he attended with his friends over many years.

“He continued to follow the fortunes of both the MacHales and Galway regardless of their form and stature. Damien was always readily available to impart his wisdom to anyone who would listen and his quiet and unassuming nature endeared him to all and sundry.”
