Former Real Madrid boss Vicente De Bosque has revealed an unbelievable story about Nicolas Anelka’s time at the club.
Anelka joined Los Blancos in 1999, spending one season at the club where he scored just seven times in 33 matches, and Del Bosque told an incredible tale via Marca about the Frenchman and his goals.
“Anelka was a player that cost us a lot of money,” the Spaniard said.
“Real Madrid wasted €25m on him and he was signed as a star.”
The 72-year then spilled the beans on how Anelka refused to train after he claimed that the Real players didn’t care when he scored.

“He came into the dressing room one day and told us that we were not happy for his success, that we weren’t celebrating his goals.
“He didn’t come to training for a day or two and the club fined him.”
Aneka was always known in his career for being a tough character to deal with, but he claimed that his team mates at the Bernabeu were jealous of him.
“My life at Real Madrid was made difficult from day one because I was an outsider and many people did not want me to sign.
“The Spanish players at the club, particularly Hierro and Raul, are very close.

“So when I came in as a big money signing and took Raul’s place in the team – there were problems.”
The Frenchman’s spell in Spain was one to forget as he departed the club in 2000 for PSG, scoring 19 times in 69 games for the Parisians.
