Liverpool have received a lot of love and praise for their post after tonight’s victory over Aston Villa. Aston Villa’s first team was hit with a serious outbreak of Covid-19 and Dean Smith’s side was forced to put out an entirely young side with 7 Under-23s and 4 Under 18s in the starting lineup with Klopp able to field an incredibly strong starting XI.
Liverpool’s starting XI featured Mane, Salah, Fabinho, Henderson and Wijnaldum yet the Villa youngsters went into the break drawing 1-1 thanks to goals from Sadio Mane for the reds and 17 year old Louie Barry for the Villa. It was 3 goals in quick succession in the second half that sealed the win for Klopp’s side as substitute Shaqiri even managed to bag 2 assists in 2 minutes but the final score line of 1-4 will not take away from an amazing Aston Villa performance and Liverpool’s tweet after the game sums that up.
