Details of Tiger Woods injuries following serious car crash have been released

Golf legend Tiger Woods has undergone a long surgical procedure on his right leg and ankle after suffering multiple open fractures in a serious car crash in California report Sky Sports.

Woods was in serious car crash in California on Tuesday and the chief medical officer of the hospital he was taken to said: “Open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the right tibia and fibula bones were stabilised”

The 45-year-old is now “awake, responsive and recovering in his hospital room.”

The accident happened shortly after 7am Pacific Time in California with Woods behind the wheel, driving a car with no passengers.

It was a single car incident with Woods losing control of his car “at high speed”, causing his vehicle to roll over several times.

The golf legend was reported to be conscious and able to communicate when emergency services arrived at the scene.

The LA County Sheriffs department said there was no obvious signs that the 45-year-old was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
