Daniel Ricciardo will NOT be racing in Formula One next season – but he has no intention of retiring from racing.
Ricciardo, who has all the necessary talent to be a world champion in the sport, has been struggling to live up to expectations at McLaren.
Having been outperformed by teammate Lando Norris, it seemed inevitable that his days at the team were numbered.
As is reported by the Daily Mail, it has now been confirmed that not only will Ricciardo lose his seat, but he won’t be finding a new one for next year.
As a result, Ricciardo will be spending a year outside of Formula One, but as is stated in the report, has every intention of returning in the future.
“I think it’s now just trying to set up for 2024. I think that there could be some better opportunities then, so that‘s really what all this confirms and now where the sights are set.”
Considering how recent years have played out, it’s definitely not a bad idea for Ricciardo to take some time to gather his thoughts and ensure the next step is the right one.
He will be well aware that falling short wherever he may go next could be the final nail in his Formula One coffin.
