The whole of Cork GAA are in mourning this today with the passing of former Midleton GAA and Cork star hurler Ger Fitzgerald.
He was a fine hurler in his prime and a gentleman of the highest standing. We sending our deepest condolences to him family and friends at this time. May he rest in peace.

Jesus Mull that’s awful. What a powerful forward Ger was . RIP to Ger’s family and all in Midleton & Cork GAA.
Very sorry to hear that news Tomas. Ger was a lovely fella. May he Rest in Peace.Sad to hear of his passing mighty tussles against him in our munster club finals inthe eighties in kilmallock .met I him in later years a proper gentleman gentleman. May he rest in peace from all in borris ileighGer “Boy” was a legend at the Army Apprentice School, Naas long before his exploits with Midleton & Cork. Joined the Defence Forces at a very young age & completed his training in ‘83. Completely unassuming young man who wanted nothing else in Life but to hurl. RIP
