The only man to with an All-Ireland senior medial in both hurling and Gaelic football in the same year, Teddy McCarthy has sadly passed away.
McCarthy was the current vice-chairman of the Sars club, and retained a keen interest in both codes, attending games up to and including last weekend, as the Irish Examiner reports. This is extremely sad news and we send our thoughts and prayers to his close family and friends at this time.

This guy was a legend and did something that will never be done again in the GAA, very sad and we are thinking of everyone connected with Teddy, may he rest in peace. He’ll be remembered in Cork forever more as a legend.
