Conor Benn has doubled down on his insistence that he is NOT a drugs cheat – and his argument is rather compelling.
Benn was due to be meeting Chris Eubank Jr in their long-awaited grudge match, but their fight was cancelled at very late notice.
Benn tested positive for a banned substance, which saw the fight called off and the fighter subsequently lose his license to box.
He has continually insisted upon his innocence, and during an interview with The Sun, once again claimed that there must’ve been some kind of contamination.

Benn claims that there was not a sufficient amount of the banned substance in his system to earn him any significant competitive advantage.
If that is indeed true, it would make very little sense for him to take the substance, knowing full well what the consequences would be.
However, we’ve seen countless fighters embroiled in comparable controversies over the years – and the truth is, they’re rarely squeaky clean.
