Real Madrid centre-back could be playing Premier League football next season

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is looking set to leave the club this summer, according to AS.

Varane’s contract with Real Madrid is due to expire in the summer of 2022, which leaves Los Blancos in a sticky situation.

As of January next year, the Frenchman would be free to negotiate with any club as a free agent, which would be a nightmare scenario for Florentino Perez.

We all know how cash-obsessed the Real Madrid president is, and he’d be losing a valuable asset without receiving a penny in return.

As AS note, the club may have no choice but to sell Varane this summer. In fact, the report goes as far as claiming that he already has one foot out the door.

Raphael Varane could be heading to the Premier League this summer.

The Daily Mail note that both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Varane, so this news coming out of Spain will offer them plenty of encouragement.

Perhaps Varane will be hoping to make a good impression on Marina Granovskaia when he takes to the turf against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final tonight.
