The former Clare defender and now manager has signed on for another three years with the banner, he was a legend himself in the game with four all stars and two senior hurling medals. He has done a great job so far with Clare and was very unlucky to be piped by Cork in the quarters-finals last month.

“In inter-county hurling now, there’s an awful lot of work involved and it takes a bit of time to get your team together and get good, professional advice. The board would be conscious of that and I suppose are looking at the job over the last two years and have decided to give us the next three to see if we can try and improve things.”
