Blackpool forward appears in court over allegations of raping teenage girl

Blackpool forward Beyly Lubala has denied allegations made by a teenager that he raped her after inviting her over to his home.

Lubala, who has also previously been on the books of Crawley Town and Birmingham City, invited the teenager over for a ‘Netflix and chill’ date, reports Lancashire Live.

The details provided to the court were lengthy, but to paraphrase, Lubala is accused of refusing to stop after the teenager made it unequivocally clear that she did not want to engage in sexual intercourse.

Lubala allegedly grabbed her by the hair and told her to stop making noise. Despite continual attempts from the teen to get Lubala to stop, he allegedly proceeded to have non-consensual sex with her.

The pair are understood to have had consensual sex twice in past before the teen began dating another woman and blocked Lubala on social media. After the relationship ended, she unblocked the player and they began chatting once more.

That resulted in the invite to ‘Netflix and chill’ and the alleged rape. Lubala denies the accusations. The trial remains ongoing.
