Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares was not a happy man after being hauled off by Mikel Arteta in the first-half of his side’s FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.
Tavares, who has shown promise since joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window, had a 35 minutes to forget against Championship side Forest and evidently left his manager unimpressed.
Arteta had seen enough and made the decision to remove Tavares from the action in the first-half of the game, bringing Scotsman Kieran Tierney onto the pitch as his replacement.
As you could probably have guessed, Tavares was not happy about it.

Arteta is a disciplinarian, just ask Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. If your attitude does not impress him, he will not hesitate to take action against you, as Tavares has learnt the hard way this evening.
Of course, it’s a fine line between setting, and enforcing, high standards and alienating the dressing room, but Arteta’s methods have got Arsenal playing some of the best football we’ve seen in the post-Arsene Wenger era.
You get the feeling that the fans will support Arteta when he makes these kinds of decisions. It’s not just for the benefit of this one game, but it also further stamps his authority on the squad.
