30 year old Uruguayan striker Santiago ‘Morro’ Garcia committed suicide after battling depression

Uruguayan football is now in shock after terrible news was broken by TyC Sports that 30 year old striker Santiago Garcia nicknamed ‘Morro’ has committed suicide after losing his battle with depression.

Just 30 years old and still under contract with Argentine club Godoy Cruz who play in the top flight of Argentinian football.

Santiago was not currently with the squad as he was receiving psychiatric treatment before being found dead in his apartment today which was revealed as suicide shortly after.

The centre-forward spent the majority of his career in South America with one year in Turkey for Kasimpasa.

He represented Uruguay at U-20 level and showed great promise in his career as clubs like Velez Sarsfield, Estudiantes and Gimnasia were stilling showing interest in the player up until recently.
