Fans weren’t impressed with Meath GAA’s Twitter account after they bitterly replied to a tweet of Offaly’s hurling result against Down on Sunday.
Offaly got their National Hurling League campaign off to a good start with a 0-21-0-18 win over Down on Sunday in Divison 2A.
After the victory, the official Offaly GAA Twitter account tweeted out the result but was met with a surprisingly outlandish reply from the official Meath GAA account.

“It’s a kip, no inter county matches should be played in that place. Hasn’t changed in 30 years. How many sliotars were lost today???”
The tweet was quickly deleted but not before plenty of supporters screenshotted it and vented their outrage on the social media app.
Hard to believe @MeathGAA would make a comment like that about fellow Gaels…maybe if they knew some of their history about the clubhouse in Ballycran it would suit them better….we had to play Meath last year in Trim on a heavy pitch AFTER a club football game..kettle and pot! pic.twitter.com/R2jjZ2j2qw
