🚨Erik ten Hag may irritate Liverpool fans with controversial VAR opinion

Erik ten Hag has backed the PGMOL despite a significant error which cost Liverpool on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side lost their first game of the season last weekend when they were undone by a high-flying Spurs team thanks to a 96th-minute own goal from Joel Matip.

Despite Liverpool getting two men sent off, the most controversial decision of the game came when Luis Diaz had his equaliser ruled out for offside.

However, it was revealed after full-time that VAR had made a significant error and the goal should have actually stood.

Manchester United manager, Ten Hag, has voiced his opinion on the matter and is still backing the PGMOL despite the costly decision.

“I don’t give comments often on refereeing because they do what they need to do.” he said.

“The standards need to be high. You can expect, the fans can, a high standard, so it should be because it’s the Premier League. I’m sure they do what they can, I trust them.”
