Sonny Bill Williams has torn into Eddie Jones after he quit the Australian coaching job after the Rugby World Cup.
Jones was heavily criticised for his nine-month stint as Wallabies coach after his side exited the Rugby World Cup before the knockout stages for the first time in history.
Reports emerged that the former England coach was linked with the Japan job and has since expressed his interest in the position since quitting Australia.
Williams wasn’t impressed by this.
‘Obviously, he had that meeting,’ he in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald.
‘It says a lot about his character to be honest. It’s comical. I still can’t believe it.
‘I saw straight through his antics and his big-talking. This is a bloke who has a track record of burning bridges.’
He then went on to criticise Jones’ comments on Michael Hooper, Quade Cooper and Bernard Foley.
‘I found those comments disgusting,’ he said.
‘I was really upset for those lads. The sad thing was that he couldn’t just leave with dignity. He had to leave with some firing shots by calling Hooper, Foley and Quade not role model material? What does that make him?’
