Footie legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be forced to retire from the game as a consequence of a new knee injury.
Zlatan, who has had a quite remarkable career, spanning across different countries and different continents, recently lifted the Serie A title with AC Milan, ending a barren run of Scudettos and reaffirming the Rossoneri as the number one club in the country – where many would argue they belong.
However, the tail end to the season has proven to be bittersweet for Zlatan. While his huge personality and dressing room influence played their part in the Serie A title triumph, the Swede has suffered a serious knee injury, which requires surgery, and it could prove to be career-ending damage.

Zlatan is now the wrong side of 40 and has achieved virtually all he could have dreamed to achieve in his career – other than winning the Champions League, of course. While he would no doubt be reluctant to retire, he would bow out on the highest of highs and will go down as a football legend.
We would love to see him play on and compete in the Champions League once again next season with AC Milan, but it remains to be seen how realistic that is. If this is the end for Zlatan in the game, it’ll be an emotional moment for anyone with any affiliation to football.
