Today’s Russian Cup game between Zenit St Petersburg and Spartak Moscow wasn’t short of controversy.
Spartak’s Quincy Promes was seen to have said something to Zenit midfielder Wilmar Barrios and from there, all hell broke loose.
Barrios’ team mate Rodrigao got involved and began trying to kick Promes repeatedly, prompting the rest of the two teams, including some staff and the substitutes, to get involved.

The fight lasted a whole minute before tensions were finally eased and Zenit eventually went on to win the game 4-2 on penalties after the game ended 0-0 after 90 minutes.
Zenit’s victory sees them end their group in 3rd place on 12 points, level with Spartak and Krylya Sovetov, both of whom have superior goal differences.
