Gary Neville accused Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness of “gloating like little children” after Man United lost 7-0 to Liverpool.
The Red Devils were embarrassed at Anfield yesterday afternoon, as braces from Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah followed by a Roberto Firmino strike gave Erik ten Hag and his United team a reality check of the highest order.
After the match, Neville was not a happy man appearing in the studio with Carragher and Souness as he gave his thoughts of the performance of his former team.
“I think in the first half, Manchester United were the better team but in the second half, the match was decided by their capitulation. I don’t think Jurgen Klopp will think ‘Oh, we’re back.‘ Liverpool won’t get carried away.
Carragher and Souness then asked Neville whether he thought Liverpool played well, and the former United man had seemingly had enough of them begging him to praise Liverpool.

“Look at you gloating like little children. You were alright in the second half, well done, congratulations. You won 7-0.”

Perhaps there was a sense of bitterness from Neville there, but who can blame him after his team just got beat 7-0 by their greatest rivals? This was a 1 in 100 result that United fans hope they will never see again.
