Worries for England fans as key player misses training

Gareth Southgate has been hit with more injury news as their quarter final draws closer.

After England’s great performance against Senegal, hopes are beginning to grow for the Three Lions. But if they want to continue in the tournament, they must overcome their biggest test yet, France.

Les Bleus have been excellent in the tournaments so far and are considered by many as the outright favourites to win. England must be at their best if they want to beat France this weekend, unfortunately they could be without one of their key players.

According to reports, Declan Rice has missed England’s training session due to a suspected illness. The West Ham midfielder has been an anchor in midfield, giving Jude Bellingham the freedom to roam further up the pitch.

His obvious replacement is Kalvin Phillips but the Manchester City midfielder has gotten little to no minutes so far this season.

Southgate may be forced into a formation change if Rice isn’t fit come Saturday.
