Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff was absolutely FURIOUS after Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton collided at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
Verstappen was instructed over team radio to hand the place back to Hamilton after a rather questionable overtake, with the Dutchman slowing down to allow his title rival to pass.
The message that clearly not been communicated to Hamilton, who was unaware as to what was going on and ended up slamming into the back of Verstappen.
The view from Team Mercedes is that Verstappen brake-tested Hamilton, which would be seriously dirty and dangerous driving in a race that was defined by drama.
Exactly what Verstappen was doing is something only he knows, but either way, it left team principal Toto Wolff absolutely furious, with his reaction, especially in slow-mo, priceless.
The thrilling title race is going down to the wire, with both Verstappen and Hamilton level on points heading into next weekend’s Abu Dubai Grand Prix.
The first – completely bonkers – Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has left matters perfectly poised.
