Chelsea have been one of the teams most closely linked with Cristiano Ronaldo, but there’s a pretty good reason why they should steer clear.
Manchester United supporters will have been desperately hoping that Ronaldo stuck around for the second year of his contract, with the Portuguese superstar having scored 24 goals in 38 appearances last campaign.
However, the Times have today reported that Ronaldo has informed the club of his intention to leave. He wants the Red Devils to seriously consider any offers that are made for him between now and the transfer window’s end.
Chelsea, along with Bayern Munich, have been mentioned in the report as a potential destination for Ronaldo this summer, but there’s a bloody good reason why Thomas Tuchel and co should snub the chance to sign CR7.
