Dana White has given his take on the possibility of UFC superstar Kamaru Usman meeting Canelo Alvarez in a boxing ring.
Usman is widely regarded as the pound-for-pound best fighter in the UFC. His points victory over Colby Colvington at UFC 268 only reaffirmed that fact.
The Nigerian, speaking to the media earlier in the week, expressed an interest in arranging a boxing match with Canelo Alvarez, who too is considered the best in his sport.
Usman clearly has intentions of ensuring he gets as big a payday as possible while at the absolute peak of his powers, which you can hardly blame him for.
Dana White, though, does not believe that him stepping through the ropes and fighting Canelo would be a particularly good idea, as he told the press at the end of the night.

White has the best interests of his fighters at heart. He will be well aware of the task that’d face Usman, were he to actually fight Canelo in a boxing ring.
Though the UFC chief would probably stand to make a pretty penny if he were to involve himself in the planning process, he doesn’t appear to be particularly keen on the idea.
