Jesse Lingard was welcomed back by West Ham fans with an absolutely ruthless chant on Saturday afternoon.
Lingard spent half a season on loan at the Hammers in 2021 where he played arguably the best football of his career. He was a hero at West Ham but now just over two years since starting that loan move he was booed and jeered by the home support.
The 30-year-old rejected a chance to reunite with David Moyes last summer in order to move to newly promoted Nottingham Forest for a much more lucrative contract.

To make matters worse for the English forward, his side was absolutely thrashed 4-0 by West Ham with now only two points separating the clubs.
“It was unacceptable in so many ways, and particularly from a mentality, a concentration and decision-making point of view,” he said. “Because of that, the game got completely taken away from us.” Steve Copper said after the game.
“We blame nobody but ourselves. We have to face up to the problems we give ourselves.”
