West Ham United fans turned on former loanee Jesse Lingard during their Carabao Cup win over Manchester United on Wednesday night.
Lingard enjoyed a stellar second-half of the season stint with West Ham last campaign, with his excellent goal-scoring form a major contributor to the club qualifying for the Europa League.
It seemed like somewhat of a foregone conclusion that Lingard would sign for the Hammers on a permanent transfer, but the move never materialised, with the England international sticking around at Old Trafford.
Having scored a late, brilliant winner against his former side at the London Stadium at the weekend, Lingard was given the opportunity to start against them in the Carabao Cup last night.
However, things turned sour over a contentious penalty appeal.
The ref was right there, and decided nah no penalty even though Noble is pulling down Lingard pic.twitter.com/BC19oBgncM

Lingard was unable to produce his best performance level on the night and has been accused of DIVING by West Ham fans after a coming together with Mark Noble in the penalty area.
The referee did not award a penalty, nor did he brandish the yellow card for simulation, but Lingard got his comeuppance in the shape of West Ham fans turning their back on him.
A real shame…
