Wesley Sneijder has revealed his confusion over Manchester United’s interest in signing Dutch striker Wout Weghorst this window.
Weghorst caught the eye of many with his tremendous display at the World Cup, especially his super sub appearance against Argentina in the quarter-finals.
The 6’6″ striker scored two crucial late goals for his country in added time to send the game to penalties, they inevitably lost but his performance was noted.
The 30-year-old striker is currently on loan from Burnley at Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş where he has played well so far this season. But Weghorst has failed to impress in England which is why it is surprising that Manchester United have rumoured interest in him.
Wout Weghorst, may not be as fancy as other players but the 6ft 6 Dutch striker will certainly be an aerial asset 💫 proven goal scorer too. If Ten Hag wants him that’s all that matters.
His interaction with the Beşiktaş fans has 💯 won me over 🏽pic.twitter.com/oG2iyafUmz

‘I think they’ve seen the trick with the free kick [in the quarter-final of the World Cup against Argentina], so they don’t fall for that in England anymore.’ he told VP.
‘In terms of striker, is he really someone United are waiting for? I don’t think so. They still have 300 of those in the Premier League. It must be a stunt. This really can’t be true.’
Do you think that he would be a good signing for Manchester United?
