Davy Fitzgerald got off to a bright star by defeating Tipperary this week in Waterford’s first competitive game of the new year. The Clare native is planning on bringing back one of Waterford’s star hurlers to the squad.

Waterford’s All-Star winning goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe has been invited back onto the county’s senior hurling squad.

The Ballygunner shot-stopper last featured for Waterford in December 2020 in the All-Ireland hurling final defeat against Limerick in Croke Park.

What a player that would be for Waterford to get O’Keefe back in the mix heading into the league and Championship. It’s going to be a massive year for Waterford, especially after last years disappointment, can the blue and white of Munster get out of the Munster Championship this summer?
