Dana White is the President of the mixed martial arts organization Ultimate Fighting Championship or as we better know it, UFC.
Under White’s leadership the UFC has grown into a globally popular multi-billion dollar enterprise producing global superstars such as Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor.
While working as a manager for Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, White learned that Semaphore Entertainment Group, the parent company of the UFC, was looking for a buyer for the UFC.
White contacted childhood friend Lorenzo Fertitta, an executive at Station Casinos and a former commissioner of the Nevada State Athletic Commission and Within a month, in January 2001, Lorenzo and his older brother Frank bought the UFC with White installed as its president.
With the appointment of White the UFC was put on a road of unimaginable success but it seems to have cost the 47 year old all his hair as you can see here in his first TV interview as President.
White now owns 9% of Zuffa, LLC, the entity the Fertitta brothers created to own and manage the UFC. In July 2016 White announced that the brand was sold to a consortium of investors led by WME-IMG for four billion dollars to which he added he would be continuing in his role as president.
