Delap who is the son of former Stoke midfielder Rory, who was best known for his dangerous long throw-ins, scored in Man City’s 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Bournemouth last night.

His Dad Rory, who made 11 international appearances for Ireland, recently told journalists that his son Liam used to try and copy his throw-ins until an under-11s game when a parent complained it was “ruining the game” which resulted in him not attempting one since.
Thankfully for Man City the 17 year old focused his attention on finishing and they are reaping the rewards now.
