WATCH: Female footballers brilliantly take the p**s out of sexist stereotypes

Norway’s female footballers are currently participating in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, but before they left some of them were interviewed for this excellent spoof documentary, skewering the insults and insinuations many women face when playing sport.

The voiceover at the start sets the scene: “They (female footballers) have fought back for years, but now they finally admit it’s all true.”

The players who took part keep impressively straight faces while delivering some killer lines about the struggles they face in football.

Veteran ‘keeper Ingrid Hjelmseth, who has 96 international caps, admits being a goalie is simply too difficult for a woman.

“The goal is just way too big,” she laments. “There ought to be two of us.”

We also meet Emilie Haavi, a forward baffled by the offside rule, while Cathrine Dekkerhus admits her career has been severely hampered by her good looks.

The reason? All the lesbian teammates who keeps falling in love with her.

Norway have two wins and a draw from their opening World Cup fixtures.

Looks like the hapless females have been lucky enough to meet equally clueless opposition in the global tournament.
