A recent interview with Cristiano Ronaldo on CNN Espanol turned nasty, after the Real Madrid star became sick of questioning about the FIFA corruption crisis.
The interview took place on July 3rd but was not broadcast as planned for obvious reasons.
Ronaldo wanted to push his range of headphones but first would have to deal with the host, Andres Oppenheimer, probing for his views on FIFA.
Ronaldo seemed taken aback by the line of enquiry and gave little heed to the questions:
“Do you want me to be honest? It doesn’t worry me at all. I do my profession, my job, I give me all for my club…the rest doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care what happens on the outside.
“[We talk] about music, about women, about fashion, about shoes, about suitcases/bags, about jewellery, about haircuts…any more [you want me to list]?”
Oppenheimer does not give up easily, asking about the Qatar World Cup, at which point Ronaldo clicks his fingers off camera and launches a verbal tirade:
“I can’t speak like that. This is bulls**t. Speak about FIFA, I don’t care about FIFA. And Qatar…I don’t give a f**k. What you want me to do?”
