WATCH: Clare hurlers seriously impress at the Crossbar Challenge

Posted by
The Clare senior hurling panel became the first county team to do the Crossbar Challenge for charity before training in Cusack Park on Monday, and hope that other teams will follow their lead.

The hurlers were promised €50 for each successful hit, with proceeds being split between the Irish Heart Foundation and Cahercalla Hospice.

There was some lovely skill shown, with Patrick O’Connor first to succeed in the video, followed by several teammates.

Some of the backroom team also took part, although manager Davy Fitzgerald’s effort got nowhere near the crossbar.

Davy credited his team with a total of 12 successes afterwards, although he may be bigging them up a tad!

He then nominated the Waterford hurlers, who he managed before Clare, to take the challenge next.

The plan is that any money raised by participating teams will be split evenly between the Irish Heart Foundation and the teams’ choice of local charity.

So Déise lads, we’re looking at you!
