Vince McMahon’s ideas for Roman Reigns “scoffed at” by WWE Creative team

Vince McMahon’s return to WWE Creative in recent weeks and months has been controversial, to say the least, and the negative mood around the disgraced executive chairman doesn’t seem like changing.

It has been rather apparent from WWE TV since WrestleMania which shows are being produced solely by Triple H and which have his father-in-law’s fingerprints all over them. Several reports have confirmed that late creative changes galore have been seen on Raw, which is McMahon hallmark.

With Night of Champions on the horizon and its May 27th date marking 1000 days of Roman Reigns as Universal Champion, big plans should be in place for the “Tribal Chief”. However, he has still to have a clear challenger lined up, which is perhaps because of Backlash taking place first, as well as Reigns barely being seen on WWE TV since ‘Mania.

It may also be because of McMahon’s interference and influence, with WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport noting many of his ideas have not been received well by WWE Creative.

“I was told that Vince McMahon has pitched several ideas for Roman Reigns’ next challenger. A few of them were even kind of scoffed at, like that that doesn’t make any sense.”

It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks who steps forward as Reigns’ latest challenger, particularly with the first holder of the reintroduced World Heavyweight Championship being decided on the same night.

Reigns’ opponent will surely have to come from Smackdown following the WWE draft, which leaves the likes of Sheamus, Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles as frontrunners for the Saudi Arabian-based show at the end of the month.
