Wayne Rooney has broken his silence on THOSE pictures which did the rounds on social media earlier in the week.
As was reported by The Sun a few days back, Rooney had been pictured asleep in a hotel room, with a group of half-naked women posing alongside him.
It wasn’t a particularly good for the married Derby County boss, though, the initial suggestions were that he felt he’d been set up by the girls involved.
The report noted of a complaint made to police in regards to the incident, but Rooney doesn’t appear to be intending on taking that any further.
Speaking to Sky Sports, on Wednesday evening, Rooney appeared to take responsibility for the photos, having apologised to his family and Derby.
“I went to a private party with two of my friends and from me, I’d like to apologise to my family and the club.”

Rooney will be hoping to put this matter to bed now as he faces the impossible task of keeping Derby in the Championship with just a few first-team players at his disposal.
Though, it’s hard to imagine Coleen letting him off that easily, because after all, how did he end up in a hotel room with a bunch of girls in the first place?
