Video: This five minute tribute to Frank Lampard is the perfect reminder of how good he was

Frank Lampard has been sacked as Chelsea manager after just 18 months in charge. The Blues legend is expected to be replaced with former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel as the Stamford Bridge outfit attempt to turn their season around.

The 42-year-old is the latest in a long line of managers who have been let go by the club including household names such as Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte and José Mourinho.

Lampard will forever be known as arguably the clubs best ever player as he was vital to the clubs most successful period in their history which saw the midfielder pick up Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League medals.

In tribute to his success as a player, Sky Sports Premier League have put together a video that showcases some of the former Chelsea number 8s greatest goals.

Lampard isn’t the first legendary player to find it difficult to carry his success as a player into management and he certainly won’t be the last.

Instead of remembering his contribution to Chelsea as an unsuccessful 18-month period as a manger we think it’s best to remind ourselves what he was capable of and how he will be truly remembered at Stamford Bridge.
