We may have another contender for the Puskas Award or at the very least a nominee after Al-Hedood’s Joseph Nathaniel scored an absolute belter in the Iraqi Premier League.
The goal came in the Iraqi Premier League clash between Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Hedood on Saturday the 13th of February where Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya won 2-1.
It’s the ‘1’ from that score that we’re interested in through as that was the goal that could potentially be a Puskas award nominee.
The strike came in the form of a volley and what a volley it was. Al-Hedood’s Joseph Nathaniel came rushing onto a breaking ball in the 23rd minute and my God did he connect.
The 27-year-old found himself coming onto a falling ball and Nathaniel decided to put his foot through it and what came next was noting short of a cannonball strike leaving the goalkeeper helpless.
