One big right hand – that’s all that it took for Lawrence Okolie to win the WBO world cruiserweight title by knocking out Krzysztof Glowacki in the sixth round of the fight.
Okolie, 16-0, was absolutely untouchable against Poland’s Krzysztof Glowacki on Saturday night, winning the bout to become the ninth British or Irish world champion in the sport.

Having only previously been beaten by cruiserweight champions Oleksandr Usyk and Mairis Briedis, Glowacki is no pushover, but Okolie made light work of the 34-year-old.
While his performance was as punch-perfect as they come, it was one punch in particular that did the damage, with Okolie landing on the money to leave Glowacki unable to continue.

As reported by Sky Sports, Okolie put himself on par with compatriot Anthony Joshua by winning a world champion in his 16th fight. He will be looking to build on what he has achieved to date, just as the two-time heavyweight champion of the world has.
For now, though, it’s time to celebrate.
