Watch the insane recovery pace from Sporting CP Jeremiah St. Juste to deny Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli what looked a certain goal.
The tackle came in the second half and proved to be a crucial event, as St. Juste and Sporting went on to beat the Gunners on penalties to advance to the Europa League quarter-finals.
It started with an Arsenal counterattack that stemmed from a poor Francisco Trincao pass on the edge of the Reds’ box, as Martinelli picked up the ball and ran the length of the pitch, as he looked destined to score.
Little did he know, St. Juste was coming up behind him and running full pelt to try and stop him.
Martinelli rounded Sporting keeper Adan, but St. Juste managed to get back and top the Brazilian tapping into an empty net.
One of the best recovery tackles I’ve seen in a while. pic.twitter.com/IcZfPr1NAb

If football had a Puskas Award for the best recovery challenge of the season, this would win it and it’s highly unlikely you’ll see a better tackle this year.
