James Ward-Prowse showed even more prowess from the dead ball position as he scored a top bins 30 yard free-kick against Newcastle today.
When watching from the Soccer Saturday studio, Jeff Stelling likened Ward-Prowse’s dead ball specialty to a skilled penalty taker stating that when he has a free kick from 30 yards it’s like giving him ‘a penalty’.
The studio was ecstatic watching his goal even though Southampton weren’t able to win the game, Merson said the free-kick reminded him of David Beckham and he said that James is the best free-kick taker in the world right now.

Southampton lost the game against 10 man Newcastle due to their inability to capitalise on the man advantage.
Maybe Ward-Prowse needs to improve his striking from open play if Southampton are to score more goals and begin winning again.
