Sergio Aguero dusted off his boots and joined his former Argentina teammates as they prepare for the World Cup final.

The former Manchester City striker was forced to retire from the sport last year after he was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia. The diagnosis came at a time when Aguero had just completed a transfer to Barcelona, where he would be joining up with his best friend, Lionel Messi.

Since then, the 34-year-old has taken some time away from the sport, it was rumoured that he would join the Argentine coaching staff but he eventually turned it down.

Instead, Aguero has travelled to Qatar to support his teammates off the pitch. But the striker couldn’t resist joining Argentina’s training session after being invited.

He showed that he hasn’t lost his clinical edge with an absolute thunderbolt from outside the box.

He even hopped into the goal and pulled off an incredible penalty save.

The Argentina team will have a much tougher goalkeeper to contend with on Sunday as they take on Hugo Lloris and his France side in the World Cup final.

This will be the first time that the two sides meet since the 2018 World Cup, where France beat Argentina 4-3 and knocked them out at the round of 16.

Let’s hope this game is half as exciting as that one.
