It’s no secret that Roy Keane isn’t the easiest person to please but when he is impressed he doesn’t shy away from compliment.

While speaking on Sky Sports the former Manchester United captain recalled a time when he and the Ireland national team were abroad for a World Cup qualifier and how they upset Jack Charlton for refusing to get on the team bus.

The reason for the team refusing a direct order from their manager was because they were watching Maradona train with the Sevilla senior team.

Keane recalled the day he and his fellow Ireland international’s just watched the Sevilla senior players train and he went on to say Maradona was a “brilliant, brilliant player. World class.”

The football legend sadly passed away from a heart attack on November 25th 2020, at the age of 60.
