Savage made the announcement on Twitter saying: ‘Today I’m delighted to launch The Savage Foundation to deliver my passionate belief that all youngsters should be able to access free grassroots football, regardless of their background or ability, with the aim that no child should be disadvantaged.’

The announcement was met with instant gratitude after former England and Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand congratulated Savage for his new foundation.

The Savage foundation is a Community Interest Company that will be dedicated to deliver the passionate belief that all youngsters should be able to access free grassroots football regardless of their background or ability, with the aim that no child should be disadvantaged.

The Foundation will be committed to facilitating inspirational opportunities for young people to enjoy being physically active in a safe, fun and engaging environment – eliminating barriers to level the playing field.

So far the charity is partnered with the Law Family Charitable Foundation, Sport England and Macclesfield Football Club.

On behalf of everyone here we wish the foundation all the very best and we hope it is a tremendous success.
