An investigation is likely to be launched after an incident in League One where a referee appeared to squared up to Ipswich Town player Alan Judge.

The incident happened during the clash between Ipswich Town and Northampton Town in League One on Tuesday night where referee Darren Drysdale appeared to square up to Alan Judge.

Judge was claiming a penalty after going down in the Northampton box in the 90th minute but the Irish man’s appeal was met with what looked like an aggressive reaction from Drysdale.

Judge simply tried to make his case but referee Darren Drysdale appeared to move his head towards the Ipswich midfielder aggressively leading to players on both sides separating the men.

The game finished 0-0 with Ipswich manager Paul Lambert saying: “It should have been a penalty on Judgey at the end but it is a results business,

“The aftermath of that incident needs to be looked at.”
